The Screen-Time Child (Ages 8-12)

Between tablets, gaming consoles, and hours of tuition classes, your child’s physical activity has taken a backseat. Low energy, poor posture, and limited physical confidence. They need structured movement sessions that feel like fun, not another chore.

The Young Athlete (Ages 8-17)

Plays school sports, co-curricular activities, or club-level competition and wants a competitive edge. Needs structured strength, agility, and conditioning work that complements their sport without overtraining. Many of our young athletes compete at Singapore Schools Sports Council and national levels.

The Teenager Building Confidence (Ages 13-17)

Wants to get stronger, look better, and feel more confident. Needs proper lifting technique, progressive programming, and nutrition education for their growth phase. Training also helps with exam-period stress and better sleep.

The Child Managing Weight

Struggling with weight and needs a supportive, non-judgmental approach. Needs a trainer who builds enjoyment of exercise and a dietitian who works with the whole family. Singapore’s hawker culture and busy schedules make nutrition guidance especially valuable.

THE THREE-PERSON TEAM

Your Child Gets a Trainer, Dietitian, and Coach

Every Athleaders program pairs your child with three specialists. You get 3 experts for the price of 1 personal trainer elsewhere. This is what makes us different from every other kids personal trainer in Singapore. Learn more about our model.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Bernhard Lieder

Founder and CEO, Athleaders

Bernhard is a 3x Singapore Triathlon Champion who founded Athleaders in 2019 with one goal: bring structured, coach-led training into people’s homes. What started in Singapore grew to Dubai, and today Athleaders has served 10,000+ clients across both cities. As of 2026, we’re the top-rated at-home training company in Singapore for four consecutive years.

The three-person team model (trainer + dietitian + accountability coach) was built because Bernhard saw too many trainers working alone, with no nutritional oversight and no accountability system. Kids deserve the same structured approach that adults get, which is why Athleaders applies the same model to every age group.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions About Kids Personal Training

Yes. All Athleaders sessions for children are led by certified trainers who specialise in youth fitness. Every program uses age-appropriate exercises, bodyweight movements, and progressive intensity. Your child’s trainer assesses their mobility, coordination, and physical readiness before designing any program. We train children from age 8 upwards, and you’re welcome to observe every session at your home.

Children can begin structured fitness training from age 8. For ages 8-10, sessions focus on motor skills, coordination games, and movement confidence. Ages 11-14 introduce structured strength and agility work. Teens aged 15-18 follow more advanced programming, including resistance training with proper form coaching. Your child’s trainer adapts every session to their developmental stage.
Each session runs for 60 minutes at your home. The trainer arrives with all necessary equipment and leads your child through a structured warm-up, the main training block tailored to their goals, and a cool-down with flexibility work. Sessions are designed to be challenging and fun. Parents receive regular updates from the accountability coach.
Gym classes and enrichment programs use one-size-fits-all programming for groups of 15-30 children. Your child gets a dedicated personal trainer who builds a program around their specific goals, whether that’s sports performance, posture correction, weight management, or general fitness. You also get a clinical dietitian and accountability coach as part of the three-person team, at no extra cost. No other kids fitness trainer in Singapore offers this combination.
Yes. We work with many families whose children need support with weight management. The program combines age-appropriate exercise with nutrition guidance from a clinical dietitian. Your child’s trainer focuses on building confidence and enjoyment of movement, not punishment-based workouts. The dietitian creates balanced meal plans that work for the whole family, accounting for school meals and Singapore’s food culture.
Your trainer arrives with all necessary equipment for every session. We can bring dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, etc. Your child does not need any equipment of their own. If you have a condo gym, your trainer can also incorporate the available machines into the program.
Absolutely. We work with teens aged 13-18 on strength training, sports conditioning, body composition goals, and exam-period stress relief through exercise. Teen sessions include proper lifting technique, progressive overload programming, and nutrition education. Many of our teen clients train for school sports teams, co-curricular activity competitions, and fitness events.
Pricing depends on your location, package size, and training times. Pricing starts from $105 per hour, which is our entry-level rate. We are voted the best bang-for-buck program as we offer all three specialists (trainer, dietitian, accountability coach) for the price of one personal trainer elsewhere. Contact us for a personalised quote.
Yes. Every Athleaders program includes a clinical dietitian who creates age-appropriate meal plans. For children, the focus is on balanced nutrition that supports growth, energy levels, and activity demands. The dietitian works with parents to make meal prep realistic, accounts for school canteen options and hawker food, and avoids restrictive dieting. Plans are adjusted periodically based on your child’s progress.
Yes. Siblings can train together, and the trainer will adapt exercises to suit each child’s age and ability level. Solo training starts at $105 per hour when one child participates. Group training starts at $50 per child per hour. Shared sessions can be a great way to build healthy habits together.
We cover all residential areas across Singapore. Your trainer comes directly to your HDB, condo, or landed property at the time that works for your family. No matter where you live in Singapore, we will match you with a kids personal trainer in your area.
Results depend on your child’s goals and consistency. Families typically report improved coordination, better posture, increased confidence, and stronger sports performance within the first 8–12 sessions. For weight management goals, visible progress usually begins within 6–8 weeks when combined with the dietitian’s nutrition plan. Your accountability coach tracks every metric and shares weekly progress reports with parents as part of the full holistic program.

About Personal Training for Kids in Singapore

Last reviewed by Bernhard Lieder, Founder of Athleaders, April 2026

Personal training for kids in Singapore is growing as more parents see the value of structured fitness for children. The Singapore Physical Activity Guidelines, jointly developed by the Health Promotion Board and Sport Singapore, recommend at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity daily for children. But between tuition classes, homework, and screen time, most children don’t come close. A kids personal trainer provides the structure, motivation, and expert guidance that group fitness classes can’t match.

Athleaders has served 10,000+ clients across Singapore and Dubai since 2019, and our three-person team model (trainer + dietitian + accountability coach) applies to every age group. Sessions run at your home, so you won’t spend time driving to gyms. Your child trains with the same dedicated trainer every week, building trust and consistency. Every program includes a clinical dietitian and accountability coach at no extra cost.

At What Age Can Children Start Strength Training?

Children can safely begin structured fitness training from age 8 when supervised by a qualified trainer. The World Health Organization recommends that children and adolescents aged 8 to 18 do at least an average of 60 minutes per day of moderate to vigorous physical activity, including muscle and bone strengthening activities at least 3 days a week. For ages 8-10, sessions focus on fundamental movement skills: running, jumping, throwing, catching, and basic bodyweight exercises. Ages 11-14 can begin introducing structured resistance work with proper form coaching and progressive difficulty. Teenagers aged 15-18 can follow more advanced strength training protocols, including supervised weight training.

The key factor isn’t age alone but physical readiness and emotional maturity. Your child’s Athleaders trainer assesses both during the initial fitness assessment before designing any program. All exercises are selected based on developmental stage, and progressions happen gradually as strength and coordination improve. If you’re unsure whether your child is ready, our free consultation is the best place to start.

Benefits of At-Home Fitness Training for Kids in Singapore

At-home personal training for kids removes the barriers that make gym-based programs difficult for busy Singapore families. There’s no commute through traffic or ERP, no waiting for equipment, and no intimidation factor for children who are self-conscious about exercising in front of peers. Parents can observe every session, which builds trust and gives you visibility into what your child is learning.

Singapore’s year-round tropical climate (30-34 degrees, high humidity) makes outdoor exercise uncomfortable for much of the day. At-home sessions in air-conditioned spaces or condo gyms mean training stays consistent regardless of weather. Your kids fitness trainer in Singapore brings all necessary equipment, so you don’t need to invest in a home gym setup. For families with multiple children, siblings can even share a session.

How to Help an Overweight Child Get Fit in Singapore

If your child needs support with weight management, the worst approach is restrictive dieting or punishment-based exercise. Children respond best to programs that build confidence, make movement enjoyable, and create lasting habits. Singapore’s food culture makes this tricky. Hawker centres, school canteens, and family meals all play a role.

At Athleaders, the kids personal trainer focuses on fun, challenging workouts that your child actually looks forward to. The clinical dietitian works with parents to restructure family meals in ways that are balanced and practical, accounting for local food options. There’s no calorie counting or food shaming. The accountability coach tracks body composition, energy levels, and training performance, giving you a clear picture of progress over time. Explore our full range of personal training services.

Kids Personal Training vs Enrichment Activities in Singapore

Singapore parents invest heavily in enrichment for their children. Tuition, music lessons, coding classes. Fitness often gets squeezed out. Group fitness classes for children typically involve 15-30 kids following the same routine, regardless of individual ability or goals. There’s no personalisation, no nutrition support, and no progress tracking.

A private kids fitness trainer in Singapore designs every session around your child’s needs. If your daughter needs posture correction and core strength, that’s what she trains. If your son is preparing for a Singapore Schools Sports Council football trial, his program is built around speed, agility, and endurance. The dietitian adjusts nutrition to match training demands, and the accountability coach keeps the entire program on track. Athleaders combines all three specialists into one program, which is comparable to what many Singapore families pay for a single enrichment class without any of these extras.
